Refúgio Pukara

The refuge is located at an altitude of 1400 meters, within the MONA (Natural Monument - Pedra do Baú) environmental protection area, integrated with nature, making it the ideal place to connect with what truly matters. In addition to the cabins available for lodging and rest high in the Mantiqueira mountains, visitors will find a breathtaking view, with the entire sea of mountains of the Mantiqueira to the west, where it is possible to appreciate the sunset. To the east, one can see the grandeur of Pedra do Baú, Bauzinho, and Ana Chata. From the refuge, it is possible to access the best trails in the region, leading to the Baú complex, an area of 3,154,000 hectares of the Mantiqueira. There are trails for all tastes and levels of difficulty, allowing visitors to hike the region for an hour or even several days. The refuge is located in the Paiol neighborhood, occupying an area of 3,000 square meters and supplied with spring water. Life is out there, discover this mountain refuge!
