Located on a small peninsula 300 meters parallel to the sea, Camurim Grande is a guesthouse that was once also a house. The residence belongs to the couple Marcelo Lacerda and Cristiana Freire (Kiti), who in 1992 chose this little piece of Maragogi beach to live in. There, they began to welcome their parents, siblings, in-laws, children – and also their children's cousins and friends. Over time, Kiti and Marcelo made their home a territory of affection. In 2012, this sentimental space gave way to more people. It was expanded and transformed into a guesthouse – almost naturally with the project by architect Pedro Motta, who received the Top Class Architecture award for the best business project for the Camurim Grande Guesthouse. The former residence opened its doors as a restaurant. Around it, bungalows and chalets were built. Welcoming was the verb that guided the entire project of transforming what was once a house into a collective space. Welcoming visitors, welcoming couples, families. Welcoming encounters – and the celebrations that come from them. But also welcoming nature: only 5% of the five-hectare plot was occupied for the construction of the Camurim Grande Inn. In the rest of the area, coconut groves, mango and cashew trees, and mangroves reign: a green area that is the cradle of biodiversity, of life.
