A alta temporada de inverno vai de junho a agosto, quando o frio, as lareiras, cafés coloniais, fondue e o clima romântico atraem milhares de visitantes para a Serra Gaúcha. Já entre outubro e janeiro, a cidade vive outra fase muito movimentada por conta do Natal Luz, famoso pelas decorações, espetáculos e iluminação temática.
A média temporada costuma ocorrer entre março e maio e também entre setembro e parte de outubro, quando o clima é agradável, a cidade fica mais tranquila e os preços geralmente são mais acessíveis.
